• Spent three years in Atlantic League of Professional Baseball with the Long Island Ducks, Bridgeport Bluefish, and Camden Riversharks.
•Spent 2 seasons as Catching Coordinator and Hitting Coach with the College of New Rochelle in 2018 and 2019.
• Currently Dean of Men and Social Studies Teacher at Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School in Somers, NY.

Gorky Estrella's love of baseball began during his High School years where he was an All-American player and was drafted by the Chicago White Sox. From College, Gorky was recruited to play professionally for the Seattle Mariners. Gorky's professional baseball career has given him the skills and understanding to successfully coach our generational baseball players. Gorky will be mainly with the 8u Mavericks but will work with all ages for various clinics.
Ryan Bowser a 2014 Mahopac High School alum made headlines in our community. He was recruited by SUNY New Paltz in 2018 ,where he played division 3 baseball for 2 years. His passion and determination to persevere in the game lead him to transferring to UNC, where he played club baseball while finishing his degree.
Ryan brings a unique data-driven approach to coaching with his analytical mind. He’s intrigued by the logistics of the game and how to improve players athletic abilities at a different level beyond athleticism.
With his blend of athletic experience and advanced expertise, Ryan provides invaluable support to Mavericks players and families, consistently seeking to elevate their performance on and off the field.
Eric Portella’s passion for baseball started in 2018 when his Lakeland high school team went to the New York State Championship game and clinched sectionals.
In 2022 , Eric went on to play 4 years at the College of Mount Saint Vincent.
Eric has learned from some of the best coaches and was a supportive teammate throughout his years on the team.
Eric will primarily be with the 15u Mavericks, but will be an advocate and support system to all our players and programs.
Donnie Roth’s love of baseball began the moment he was old enough to hold a bat. Donnie’s baseball career really took off in high school where he played for Clarkstown North High School from 2004-2008. He was then recruited by Concordia College where he played for four years.
Donnie began his coaching career in 2011 by becoming assistant Varsity coach for Clarkstown North until 2018, then coached for The New City General from 2009-2020. He is currently the head coach for the Junior Varsity team at Archbishop Stepinac High School.
Donnie will be coaching the 13U team and will be working with all ages of our Mavericks teams, even our MIni Program.
Tim played 4 years Varsity baseball Catholic Central High School For college he played for SUNY Oneonta Baseball (1998-2000) and SUNY Cortland baseball (2000-2002)
He has been with the Mavericks since 2019.
He currently is a Physical Eduction teacher for the NYCDOE.
Damien was a four-year starter at Fordham Preparatory School in the Bronx. He attended Concordia College where he was a four time all conference pitcher including Rookie of the Year in 1999.
In 2002, Damien was the NYCAC conference Player of the Year and first team All American.
He holds the all time wins record at Concordia College with 40 which is sixth all time in division II history.
Damien was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 27th round of the 2002 MLB draft. He played for three years at various levels ranging from Rookie ball to High A compiling 160 innings with an ERA of 2.36.
From 2005 to 2007 he pitched in the independent league circuit. Ηe was the Assistant/Pitching coach at Concordia College for 2 seasons from 2007-2008.
Damien also coached 3 seasons at Westhill High School in Stamford, CT , serving as pitching coach.
Damien is one of our pitching coaches for our Mavericks Pitching Clinic.
Damien will work with all of our teams and will continue to work with pitchers throughout the Mavericks organization.
